GREETING
Welcome in the name of Christ. God’s grace, mercy, and peace be with you.
And also with you.
PREPARATION
We meet in the name of God
who knows our needs, hears our cries, feels our pain, and heals our wounds.
PENITENCE
Human sin disfigures the whole creation, which groans with eager longing for God’s redemption. We confess our sin in penitence and faith.
Silence is kept
God our Father, we come to you in sorrow for our sins.
For turning away from you, and ignoring your will for our lives;
Father, forgive us:
save us and help us.
For behaving just as we wish, without thinking of you;
Father, forgive us:
save us and help us.
For failing you by what we do, and think, and say;
Father, forgive us:
save us and help us.
For letting ourselves be drawn away from you by temptations in the world about us;
Father, forgive us:
save us and help us.
For living as if we were ashamed to belong to your Son;
Father, forgive us:
save us and help us.
The almighty and merciful Lord grant us pardon and forgiveness of all our sins, time for amendment of life, and the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

St. Matthew 24:29-35
‘Immediately after the suffering of those days
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from heaven,
and the powers of heaven will be shaken.
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see “the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven” with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
‘From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

PRAISE
Restore us, Lord God of hosts.
Turn the light of your face to us and save us.
Will you not give us life again,

Almighty God, whose will is the restore all things in your beloved Son, the king of all: Govern the hearts and minds of those in authority, and bring the families of the nations, divided and torn apart by the ravages of sin to be subject to his just and gentle rule; who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
SENDING OUT
Heavenly Father, we share together the blessing of your presence.
Give us in this life knowledge of your truth, and in the world to come life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
